Hi. My name is Eric and I’m a fitness coach and writer with over a decade of experience.

Here at Muscle That Matters, I’m dedicated to helping guys build more muscle, get leaner, and take control of their health and their body so they can live on their terms.
The mission of Muscle That Matters is to provide you with tools you can use to build a body you’re proud of and live a life of strength, health, and confidence.
Unfortunately, for many guys, building muscle and getting lean can seem almost impossible.
With all of the confusing, competing information out there, it’s hard to know what works. This site will help you simplify and focus on the essential.
What we do:
Give you stuff that works in the ‘real world’. Have a job, a family, and other hobbies and priorities outside of fitness? You can still build muscle and get ripped. That’s what we do.
Simplify your nutrition and training. How does building a great-looking, high-performing body without needing a degree in biochemistry to build and maintain sound? Here at MTM, we’re about smart, scientifically-backed, real-world vetted plans that get fast, long lasting results.
Get you results in less time (and effort). Fitness isn’t everything. You’ve got better things to do than spend hours and hours in the gym each week or worry about preparing six perfectly balanced meals per day. We’ll show you what to focus so that you can live more and stress less.

About Eric Weinbrenner
I grew up in a small town of around 3,500 people and I was painfully skinny and weak when I was younger (see first pic on the left — that’s actually AFTER gaining 5-10 pounds). Because of this, I was really self-conscious and felt inferior to lots of my peers (even though I hid it pretty well).
In my early twenties, I went on a “bulking” phase and ended up a little bigger, but still “soft” looking (see middle picture above). It was an improvement, I guess, but still far from where I wanted to be and I spent most of my time riddled with anxiety about eating right or questioning if what I was doing in the gym was right.
It wasn’t until my mid-twenties, after getting a degree in Health and Physical Education with a Strength & Conditioning concentration, that I really “got” it.
I ended up gaining 10 pounds of muscle while getting leaner in the process. I wasn’t skinny or skinny-fat anymore.
I became obsessed with all things fitness and decided my mission was to help other guys accomplish what I did with my body.
You could say that Muscle That Matters is the result of me consistently screwing up until I got it right.
